The default unit cost for SKU items is defined in the SKU Item grid. That value would be used for the SKU item in all price lists. However, you can define the unit cost for SKU item per price list using the “OverrrideUnitCost” column.
Figure 1. The Unit Cost set in the SKU items grid applies to all price lists unless there is a value in the OverrideUnitCost column for a SKU in a price list
In this example, the default unit cost “Black Pearl 3CM” is $7.50. The Override value for this SKU item in the “Retail 2024” price list is $6.50 which is what shows up in the quote.
Figure 2. The Unit Cost for the material is $6.50 for the “Retail 2024” price list, otherwise, the unit cost would be $7.50 based on the SKU item’s unit cost.
ActionFlow can manage multiple methods of job costing. If you notice the unit cost is not matching the values in the SKU page, one reason may be a material waste factor for the material that is set in the SKU class grid.
Figure 2. The Material Waste % for Granite 3CM is 30%
In this example, the override unit cost is $6.50 which has a 30% material waste factor because it is a Granite 3CM material.
Figure 3. The Waste Factor percent is applied to the Unit Cost to calculate the Cost of the material
