Import Line Items into the Area Module

Import Line Items into the Area Module

Import line items into the area module from a CSV from the Tasks menu. This is useful if you quote cabinets or flooring using another program but want to consolidate those line items in ActionFlow.
  1. Use an existing area or create a new area
  2. Fill out the required fields - likely all that is relevant in this case is the price list
  3. Click the "Tasks" menu in the top left of the area module
  4. Select "Import Line Items"
  5. Locate your CSV file
  6. Click "Calc + Save"
  7. Review the line items tab if needed

In this example, the cabinet line items are generated in a separate software but we would like to collect payments in ActionFlow (to invoice to QB). We export the line items out of our cabinet quoting software and import them into this job.

To set this up, first add the SKU items into the SKU page and the relevant Price Lists.
Info
Each SKU item needs a unique "Import ID"
If you have the line items in a CSV as described below, you could adapt the entries to import the SKU items themselves.

Figure 2. The SKU items that will be imported have an "Import ID" and are in the relevant price lists

Once the SKU items are in the price list, prepare a CSV with the headers:
  1. Import ID (required)
  2. Quantity (required)
  3. Override Unit Revenue
  4. Custom Description
  5. Append Description
Or add your records to the attached CSV file.

Figure 3. The ImportID and the Quantity field are required and likely all that is needed if the SKU item has the revenue and name

Figure 4. This CSV example includes the revenue and description if the SKU item does not have that information
