Label Drawing Item

Label

The “Label” drawing item overrides the Name of the top in the top list and then applies a fixed or calculated charge based on length or area limits to the top to which it’s attached. There are 3 types of labels: LabeledEach, LabeledEachByLength, and LabeledSqFt. This flexible feature could be used to capture miscellaneous SKUs or to charge fixed amounts per piece for prefabricated laminate vanities (see examples below). If you believe this may be useful for you, work with your account manager to configure labels.

Configuring Label Drawing Items

LabeledEach – apply a fixed charge for a top

LabeledEachByLength – apply a charge to a top when the length is within the Upper and/or Lower limits set in the Price List

LabeledSqFt– apply a charge to a top based on the area of the top

Overview

Once added to a top, the SKU item name is inserted as the “Name” of that top and a line item is created.

Delete the “Name” from the Top List to remove the line item.

If you choose to attach a different label to the top, you have the option to either replace the current “Name” of the top or append the name.

Configuring Label Drawing Items

  1. First, create a SKU and set the “Drawing Item” field to “Label. The class type must be “CalcTop” for drawing items.
  2. Add the Label to the Cost Definitions grid for a Price List

  3. Set a “Special” calculation based on your SKU need (see examples below). The options for special label calculations are:
    1. LabeledEach – apply a fixed charge for a top
    2. LabeledEachByLength – apply a charge to a top when the length is within the Upper and/or Lower limits set in the Price List
    3. LabeledSqFt – apply a charge to a top based on the area of the top

  4. If you want the SKU to depend on the material, a category, or dimensions of the top set the:
    1. Material – set if the charge only applies to a certain material
    2. SpecialSort – if a SKU is in the price list multiple times to account for different scenarios, each line item must have a unique SpecialSort value
    3. LowerLimit – for labeled each by length special type for if charge only applies above this value
    4. UpperLimit - for labeled each by length special type for if charge only applies below this value
    5. SpecialText – set with the name of the category when the charge depends on the material category

See examples below for how to set these fields.

  5. Add the same SKU to the price list with the “Add Selected SKU” button and set the fields listed above.
  6. Repeat Step 5 for all scenarios you wish to cover.

LabeledEach

LabeledEach applies a fixed amount for each top to which it’s attached.

In this example, the amount that is charged to the customer depends on the material and category of that material. A vanity for Granite 3CM colors in category “A” costs $500, category “B” costs $1000, and category “C” costs $1500 so the SKU is added 3 times to the Price List. For each item, the “Material” field is set for “Granite 3 CM,” the category name is in the “SpecialText” field and each SKU has a different “SpecialSort” value.

In the area module, first select the material and color. Then, when you apply the “Vanity Wide” drawing item to the top, ActionFlow automatically applies the correct charge based the material and color category.

LabeledEachByLength

Use “LabeledEachByLength” to apply charges to tops based on the LowerLimit and UpperLimit fields.

In this example, ActionFlow will automatically apply the charge based on the dimensions, material, and category of the top.

The length of the vanity is 57” which falls between the limits for the $820 charge for a Caesarstone 3 CM color in Category “A.”

LabeledSqFt

LabeledSqFt applies the revenue amount times the area of the tops to which it’s attached. This would be used to capture miscellaneous SKU items.
